Found this old Canon A1 at a thrift store last week. I threw in a new battery and some Fujifilm Superia X-tra 400 and went to town.

From the Embarcadero in San Francisco 3/7/2014
Found out an hour before the show that Janelle Monae was playing a free concert at the Justin Herman plaza for the 15th year anniversary of the company Sales Force. Janelle Monae was amazing. Best of all, the lighting was near perfect.
For the tech nerds, I took these shots with a 90mm Leica Elmarit at f5.6 iso 100 + canon 5dmk2.

From Richardson Beach. Hilo HI
I found these beautiful lagoons while driving through Richardson Beach, in Hilo. Using a polarizing filter, I was able to get some underwater detail in the foreground of these shots.

Sitting at the Daylight Mind Cafe in Kona, my first thought was that I had packed the wrong lens for the excursion, a 35mm prime. Despite the fact, I was able to grab these photos of some dude killing it.

Bolinas Ridge hike with a budget camera. /
Instead of toting along my clunky DSLR, today I decided to shoot on my Panasonic Lumix, a camera I purchased back in 2006 for $150. This particular camera is not known for it image quality, but with creative composition and a tiny bit of post processing I was able to come up with these photos.
“Inherently, we all know that an image isn’t measured by its resolution, dynamic range, or anything technical. It’s measured by the simple—sometimes profound, other times absurd or humorous or whimsical—effect that it can have upon us. If you can see it, it can move you.” Chase Jarvis - Author of The Best Camera Is The One That Is With You. http://www.chasejarvis.com/
